As an educator you may have experienced that the emphasis within the literacy equation tends to be placed on reading development, leaving much to be desired when it comes to writing instruction. In fact, many teachers tend to feel as though writing instruction is difficult due to a lack of training and a lack of time within the school day to cover it. But with Writing A-Z, teachers have found that these challenges are a thing of the past. Since its launch, teachers around the world have been thoroughly enjoying using Writing A-Z. Built from the ground up, Writing A-Z has allowed both teachers and students to take a simplified, research-based approach to writing instruction while making it more fun for students.
Writing A-Z: Simplifying Writing Instruction
Designed with the busy educator in mind, Writing A-Z takes the guesswork out of writing instruction and builds the confidence necessary to teach effectively. Equipped with a scope and sequence that follows a gradual release model, Writing A-Z methodically applies structure to the development of sound writers using 80 pre-written, explicit lessons per grade. In addition, Writing A-Z acts as the perfect companion, as it guides educators through each step of the teaching process using point-of-use professional development, sample dialogue, teacher tips, module cheat sheets, and resources available in printable, projectable, and digital formats that are sure to accommodate an educator’s busy schedule.
Writing A-Z offers teachers a step-by-step writing guide that correlates to the common core standards and follows the I do, We do, You do faded supports approach in teaching writing. The writing lessons are structured while leaving room for creativity for the teacher and students. In each lesson teachers are provided with suggested scripts and teacher tips that provide sentence stems, reteaching, and enrichment guidance. Writing A-Z is unique as it can be incorporated into any writing curriculum or can be used on its own as the school/district writing program. Teachers will find it accessible, easy to follow, and includes a wealth of quick, informative professional learning segments. Students will enjoy the review games that have a read to feature and the engaging graphics. Using this program allows the classroom teacher to build an engaging, collaborative, supportive community of writers.

Outside of this, Writing A-Z provides essential supplemental resources such as writing and grammar packs as well as detailed reporting to differentiate instruction and ensure each student remains on-track.
Making Writing More fun for Students
Writing A-Z allows students to see the writing process as fun and enables them to complete it digitally. Using WaLT, our digital writing tool that’s available for grades 2 - 5, students are able to develop their writing skills using a digital workspace clad with revising checklists, graphic organizers, a writer’s notebook, and more! Students also have access to the Kids A-Z portal, a space-themed interface that allows students to embark on writing and grammar quests alongside fun, customizable avatars that keep students engaged. Motivated by the ability to earn rewards, students will truly feel excited to achieve higher levels of success.
Lastly, students are able to become self-published authors by using Writing A-Z’s Build-a-Book, a feature that allows students to draft, revise, and publish their own work. Once published, this work will be housed in the Writing Library, a place where students and teachers can access completed writing pieces that teachers are able to share with classmates.
