The Winners of This Year’s Teacher Grant Program
Many teachers applied for this year’s grant program and we couldn’t be more excited to announce the winners! Drumroll please….
This year’s winners are:
Randall Daddio, a resource teacher with Porter Ridge Elementary School in Indian Trail, NC
Upon winning this grant, I plan to…
“use Writing A-Z daily. I would use the lessons for small group lessons throughout the time my students are with me. I would then also assign independent practice activities so I could access student work as well as allow students to have meaningful work to complete while working with other small groups.”
Johnny Lopez, a resource teacher with Porter Ridge Elementary School in Indian Trail, NC
Upon winning this grant, I plan to..
“use Writing A-Z within my literacy centers to give students meaningful practice for their writing skills in an individualized way. Also, using the Pre and Post assessments will give me more information to guide my instruction. It would be a great experience to have students create their own book and experience the publishing process in class.”
Sade Parham, a K-5 instructional coach with Philadelphia City School District in Philadelphia, PA
Upon winning this grant, I plan to…
“integrate the use of this program 3-4 days a week. Students would love the writing instruction with this program.”
Mistelle Jewett, a K-5 Reading specialist with Philadelphia City School District in Philadelphia, PA
Upon winning this grant, I plan to…
“get teachers’ buy-in to implement this writing instruction. The teachers have been begging for instruction on how to teach writing.”
