Learn More Why Is Early Literacy Essential?Beth Scott is a research associate at Learning A-Z who initiates academic and community partnerships. As a lifelong educator, she spent close to 40 years in both K-12 and higher education. She holds an undergraduate degree in Secondary Education and French from the State University of NY at Buffalo, a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from the State University College of NY at Brockport, and both a Master’s Degree in Linguistics and Doctorate of Education from the University of Rochester. She has served as an evaluator for the Charter School Institute of NY and the Arizona Department of Education Solutions Team, evaluating schools’ viability and level of success in educating the children in their charge. Her doctoral work focused on bridging the gap between K-12 and post-secondary education for students of low socioeconomic status.
