Tasha Fisher

Special Education Teacher

Tasha Fisher is an award-winning, special education teacher in Chicago, Illinois who keeps community building, classroom equity, and honoring her students’ individual strengths and experiences at the core of her teaching.

Tasha is the recipient of a 2022 Cambium Learning Group Essential Educator Award for her commitment to forming and strengthening relationships with her students and their families, fostering an inclusive classroom, and instilling a growth mindset in all of her students. To Tasha, “there’s no failing. You can’t fail because it’s all part of the learning process.”

In addition to her career in the classroom, Tasha supports EdTech companies on special curriculum projects and has had a successful career as a restaurant owner, where she achieved her goal of bringing fresh, healthy food to her community.
