This case study explores the effects of implementing Foundations A-Z as a supplemental solution for foundational skills instruction at China Spring ISD, a public school district located south of Dallas. China Spring ISD was seeking a systematic phonics solution in compliance with Texas House Bill 3 that all teachers in the district could use effectively, regardless of experience level.
Results
Foundations A-Z has become an integral part of the district’s phonics curriculum, with the district citing noticeable improvements in students’ fluency and decoding. Students are using decoding strategies learned systematically to sound out words rather than guessing.
