About This School
Indian Creek Elementary is located in Clarkston, GA, a refugee resettlement base. The PreK–5 school enrolls 920 students; 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch, and 78% are English language learners (ELLs). Students come from more than 40 countries and bring with them 45 different languages and dialects.
Challenges
Literacy was one of the school’s greatest challenges.
Implementation
Indian Creek Elementary began used all Learning A-Z Products in 2017 to deliver a personalized blended learning approach.
Results
On the Georgia Department of Education College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI):
- The Overall School Score increased by almost 20 points from 2018 to 2019.
- Students showed a gain of more than 15 points in Content Mastery, which includes achievement scores in English language arts (ELA), mathematics, science, and social studies. In ELA, the gain was 17.29 points.
- Indian Creek Elementary is improving performance and closing academic achievement gaps among all student subgroups, including economically disadvantaged students and ELLs.
